Missionary Guillebaud shared this story of Deborah Niyakabirika's, chronicled in a World Vision Australia video. Her son was murdered, in an isolated act of ethnic vengeance, three years after the genocide.
Months after the killing, a young man visited Deborah. "I killed your son," he said. "Take me to the authorities and let them deal with me as they will. I have not slept since I shot him. Every time I lie down I see you praying, and I know you are praying for me."
Deborah answered, "You are no longer an animal but a man taking responsibility for your actions. I do not want to add death to death."
Then Deborah did the extraordinary. "But I want you to restore justice by replacing the son you killed," she continued. "I am asking you to become my son. When you visit me, I will care for you."
Today, that young man is an adopted member of her household.
I believe this is an example of really loving God....for it is written...
31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37"Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40"The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

I was a sinner in the worst way until a very good friend who happened to be a pastor helped me get saved just before what I thought would be a simple operation. Ended up I was in a coma for some time and what happened while I was in the coma is very vivid in my mind still. God is real and that is a fact. This I know for certain now. I am saved now by His grace and because Jesus loved me enough to die in my place. My love for God is immeasurable and it just grows every day. God loves you too. Give Him a chance and let Him show you. By the way, prayer works also. My prayer has just been answered. Something that is absolutely incredible that I wanted so very bad has happened. Something I thought was nearly impossible but I prayed for continually.

How I love God?
Ok
When I was a kid, I looked at the stars a lot, and thought theyre so distant but they give us hope.
When I went to bed looking at the dark starry night, I thought, I used to be a baby in my mothers tummy like this, surrounded with nothing but darkness, and a sense of being at peace I can only describe as being one with God.
Ever since then I realized. we are born alone in darkness...we go to sleep alone in darkness and we close our eyes to darkness when we die. The process is the same, the time different, the only thing that makes us happy is thinking of the feeling of being One with that which created me, and letting myself go to His power.
Thats how I love God.
He was there all along, and He will always be when after I die.

I go door to door and talk about Biblical topics with people and offer home bible studies. How is this love? Well, he sent his only begotten son and many prophets to the Jews to tell them of his purposes and warn them of disobedience. We do the same thing, just like Noah did. All the early Christians preached and loved one another. The 2 greatest commandments that Jesus said were " To love God your Father with your whole mind , soul, soul , and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Krishna (a name of God) Says in the Bhagavad Gita( The Song of God) The most pleasing thing to Him is to glorify His name. He says in this age the highest sacrifice is to chant His name. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. These are three name of God which He would like us to chant called the Maha Mantra The mantra for deliverance from material existence. You can chant or say any name of God that is bonafide but the Maha mantra is like taking the elevator apposed to the stairs. That is a practical way to show you love Him, to do what He likes the most.

I have a neighbor that absolutely does not like me, only because I am a Christian. I try to be nice and helpful to her even though she treats me badly. She has a pretty sad life and needs a lot of help.
Anyway the love of God does not permit that I treat her badly in any form even though she might do so to me, so as I love God I obey his commandments.

Most recently: giving everything to Him. It's funny, because you might think you're doing it, and it might appear that way to everyone else, but, really, inside, you're holding something back. For me it was a preoccupation that I'd asked God to take away, but really, I LIKED thinking about it, and I really wanted to keep it. When I finally gave it to God, it just changed everything, and I can't explain this amazing love I have for Him and desire to obey Him completely.

Before you can love God you need to get to know him.
You do that through full participation in the work, worship, and sacraments of the church he personally founded, and left here for our salvation.
Love comes later.
