why do Spanish people speak so differently than me?

I'm from Venezuela and I hardly have an accent, most people don't know unless I tell them. But sometimes I get the "I ilke your accent" thing, so it's still there.
I know a girl in my school that's also from there and has a much stronger accent than I do, and her English is just as good as mine. I guess it depends on how and where you learned it.

The basic theory is that Spanish sounds a bit stronger, you move and roll your tongue a lot more than you do in English.

I hope that you are talking about people who speak English with a Spanish accent instead of just speaking Spanish. I'll save you from the smart @## answer. I'm sure a few other people will point that out.

Now if you do mean the Spanish accent, it has a lot to do with the different sounds between the two languages. English has a few sounds that are difficult to duplicate if you are trying to learn English as an adult. "Th as in the, and anything that starts with a "y" are difficult for Spanish speaker who try to learn English.

If you want a better understand of how difficult it can be to learn how to use different sounds, try learning Spanish, that rolling r the Spanish language has, drives me nuts. I just can't do it.
