I'm not in Texas but here in MI most community college's that have a dental program are real cheap. First check with your community (2 year) college. They do cleanings and x-ray my son even took a class on how to swallow correctly thru them after his face had been paralyzed. They do not do fillings but the x-rays are cheaper and then find someone to take care of the filling

There is a dental school in Houstan: University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch
Usually you can go to the dental school, and they will do low cost work on you. Just be careful, it is not the best quality work done, because it is done by students and not someone who has a certified dentist.
