My friend want's to marry someone in U.S.A. He is a citizen, and she doesn't have a greencard or anything.. She came to America years ago. Her visa has been expired, she can't work or go to college, because she would need SSN... which she doesn't have... What can she do? Can she get a greencard by marrying him? And how long will that take? Does she need to know anything particular? What kind of questions do the Immigration officers ask when then interview you as a couple after you have been married?
Please let us know, so she can have a better life, and marry someone she like... thank you so much!

Without a doubt, the best thing to do is to call USCIS [U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services] (formerly INS) and have them advise her how to go about it. They know the law and it would be much better to speak with them directly instead of trying to get people to answer here since you can never be sure who is guiding you in the right direction and who isn't. Personally, I know of someone who was here for a while and then married a US citizen and now they are living their life and marriage happily with 2 kids so it's definitely possible. The law is the same for everyone.

Here is the number to call the USCIS. 1-800-375-5283

All the best to you and them.

submit an application for the green card. Hopefully this process wont take long, since Immigration intends to take their sweet time for the processing. Just make sure they provide a marriage license for verification. Good luck for them friend.

Hey, if she's willing to serve him, my brother could use a wife, but he's not willing to do the three year thing. It will be a life time commitment.

Uh oh. Don't ask that kind of question in here. You will get people telling you to tell her to go home, and come here legally, and basically rude comments. Watch out.

The first answer is correct. Don't come here looking for ways for illegals to beat the system.

I think that it's legit. She will be legal once you get married.
