If this is his first time offense, he should not worry so much but he will be given fines probation and even community service, he either can go ahead and pay a lawyer to represent him or go with the state appointed lawyer.

If he has a prior record he will be looking at a harder sentence and all of the above including possible jail time.

Or if he can prove that his friend did let him access the card at least once then he can then say he took advantage and kept using it and therefore was just being stupid, or when in front of the judge He better make sure to claim he was stupid and just desperate but wants to better his life and change.

I wish you guys luck!!!, But no matter what it was wrong he did but we all do have to learn from our mistakes!

Your friend needs to go and get himself a chastity belt - because he will be fresh meat.

Not only did he knowingly and intentionally steal someones identity, he also stole finances from them and profited from criminal acts. No matter what country you are in, this will get you screwed by Bruce and Tiny, your federal prison inmates

He is in trouble big time. Stealing someones ID is very bad. He might go to jail and pay a fine.
