Others will answer this question for you, but I would like to send a message to your class.

My son was a Junior in high school playing basketball. He was healthy and athletic. He had a well physical and passed it. He was half way through his season when he noticed that he had difficulties running down the floor. He looked thin, but was gaining weight in the abdomen. Within two months he was diagnosed with a stage IV abdominal cancer that predominately strikes young boys (and some girls). It is a rare cancer that family doctors are unaware of. It is considered a childhood cancer. This is a deadly disease. What I want you to communicate to your peers is that TEENAGERS get cancer too . . even seemingly healthy teenagers who have had a physical. The best way to protect yourself is to learn how to examine your entire body. It is CRITICAL to report to your parents, school nurse, or family doctor any type of lump or bump you feel anywhere on or INSIDE your body. My son was asymptomatic. He had NO pain and did not realize that multiple tumors were growing inside him. He had noticed a hard lump in his stomach but we didn't check it out soon enough. Please pass this message on. Always report any unusual lumps or bumps for they may be tumors . . benign or cancerous. Kids get cancer too.

Symptoms of cancer depend on the type and location of the tumor. For example, lung cancer can cause coughing, shortness of breath, or chest pain, while colon cancer often causes diarrhea, constipation, and blood in the stool.

Some cancers may not have any symptoms at all. In some cancers, such as gallbladder cancer, symptoms often are not present until the disease has reached an advanced stage.

However, the following symptoms are common with most cancers:

Fever
Chills
Night sweats
Weight loss
Loss of appetite
Fatigue
Malaise

well being that there are so many forms of cancer the signs can be endless also some of them can also mean other things so you can never really tell also there is a point when there are no signs at all. but as best I understand it some of the more obvious signs are 1.) lump(s) under the skin 2.) strange discoloration of the skin in spots 3.) fatigue 4.) strange weight loss 5.) strange rapid weight gain 6.) Dizziness/ vertigo 7.) headaches or chronic pain in specific areas. These are my best explanations although (as I mentioned earlier) there are so many warning signs it is hard to tell without a doctor

There is no such thing as "the seven warning signs of cancer" because there are so many different types of cancer and they all have multiple symptoms. You could list seven warning signs for every type of cancer. No one who already answered even mentioned severe headache, seizures, numbness and/or tingling on one side of the body, slurred speech, impaired thought processes, or blurred or double vision. These are just some of the symptoms of a brain tumor.
