You're going to get some answers relating to the book of Leviticus.

Here is your response to that:

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Obviously there are some 'laws' in Leviticus that are outdated...why not all of them?

I don't think the Bible mentions gays or gay relationships at all, in fact it definitely doesn't mention homosexuals or gays.

The Bible says something about men sleeping with men but they could be straight men away from their wives for a while just indulging in a bit of mutual consolation, it doesn't say they are gay men or in any kind of relationship with each other, it may also have been male prostitution in other words commercial sex that was being frowned on, it may not have even been sex at all but merely affection and cuddles ...however nobody can know.

Sodom & Gomorrah is not destroyed in the story because of gays but of general sinfulness of the people, the sins are listed and homosexuality is not picked out as one of the sins. The townsmen who wanted to brutalise the angels were hardly gay as sex of any kind with an angel is not gay sex or same sex, an angel isn't even the same species!!!... and the men sound more like brutish red-necks than gays, but anyway the towns were already scheduled for annihilation before the angel rape attempt in the story so it wasn't the reason for the destruction.

No I don't think there is any evidence in the Bible that God prohibits gay relationships, God certainly enjoys the odd bit of genocide and human sacrifice however, there's plenty of evidence in the Bible for that... and what a jealous, peeved, petty tyrant of a monster God is according to the Bible's characterisation of him.

Actually all religions prohibit illicit sex. (sex outside of marriage and not for Procreation) The fact is all of this is on the bodily platform and creates bondage to the material world. If you want to be free from birth, death, disease and old age then you have to get off the bodily platform. All illicit sex and mundane relationships will keep you in the material world birth after birth. So God wants everyone to be eternally happy not just some illusory happiness. If one follows the revealed scriptures then they will get free from the clutches of Maya.

People who believe this say it's written in the Bible.

The really big guns that they always pull out is....if God meant for men to marry each other He would have created Adam and Steve...not Adam and Eve.

You mean the fact that Jesus defined a "marrage" as being between a male and a female? (Matthew 19). Or the fact that Paul said in a few places that homosexuals do not enter Heaven?

bring them that we may know them....inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah wanting to have homosexual sex with angels..Genesis chapter 19 verse 5. Read also Gen chapter 19 verse 24-30. Or simply read all of Genesis in the bible.

Ever read Romans 1. Gayness is a curse. If God allows you to be gay, he has given up on you. That is not good.

There isn't anything. Though there is lots of proof that god hates women and like to call us whores for fun.

NEVER FORGET that this book is written by the hand of man and god had NOTHING to do with it. The Bible you read today is a group a verses specifically chosen by zealots to give you half the story of a story written by zealots. It is all the rambling of various psychotics, schizophrenics and sociopaths. It makes no clear sense and repeats itself in ways that offer no clear understanding. It hopes that by saying wrong things over and over that you will accept them as right.

I was raised in church and as I began the see the hypocrisy I prayed to god about it and I said to him look - I cannot believe this crap - if that is sinful and wrong then strike me down for I am sin - well I'm still waiting - is god a sneak hit man just laying in wait over 30 years to jump out of the bushes and damn my soul? I think NOT.

Matt Helm - YOU ROCK Man! Never have I seen a more convincing argument for my own theories!

For those of you quoting the story of Sodom and Gomorrah...so it isn't ok to love your fellow man (if you are a man) but it ok to offer your virgin daughters to be raped by your neighbours and it's ok for your daughters to bear your children if your sons are dead???????? Ah the hypocrisy!
