You have been dating this guy for a while, and then you guys break up. For months the two of you have always been nice in the emails, and ended your emails with sweet little nothings or just your first name. Now that you have broken up you send him an email, but this time even though he was still nice in the email he ended it with writing his full name as though he was being professional. I sent him a normal everyday kind of email. Are we professional now?

And no I was not expecting the sweet little nothings, but just a 1st name like we use to do. That's what I did.

He is trying to tell you to not email him. that everything between you two is now just business.

Well, when I communicate with coworkers or with my boss, we still never use full names, only first names. But yah, I would also interpret it as the person trying to distance themselves from you.

probably doesn't mean anything men don't really take as much out of those little things as women do (didn't mean that to sound sexist if it does)
