Get her fixed is my suggestion, cuz if you giv her a diaper she will tear it up. So put her in the basement or somewhere she won't get pregnant at! lol

Get her spayed when her season is over. This is healthier for her (less chance of certain cancers) and more responsible (thousands of puppies get put down every year simply because there aren't enough quality homes for them - I'm sure you don't want to contribute to the problem).

Until then, keep her in a really secure area, for example inside the house. Be aware that she might try to run away to find a dog to mate with, so keep a close eye on her, don't let her escape from the house, and don't let her offleash. Don't leave her in the yard, even if she is in a run - male dogs can jump really really high to get to a female in heat, and dogs can mate through many types of wire mesh. Dogs can be pretty ingenious when it comes to getting access to a ***** on heat!

You can get her dog diapers for the blood stains, but chances are she'll just rip them off. So be prepared to clean up lots of blood stains from your house - floor, walls, furniture. Which is, of course, another good reason to get her desexed soon!

The best thing to do is have her fixed if you do not plan to breed her. The "period" may last 7-14 days. There are diapers that you can buy at pet stores for this problem. Make sure you keep a close eye on her too, just 2 minutes alone with a "fence jumper" and your a GRANDMA

I had that same problem at one point only my dog stays outside. I had her on a runner in a fenced yard with a male dog that was fixed running louse. Trying to keep other males away from her but it didn't work, one got in and she got pregnant and 53 day later 6 puppies were born, 4 males and 2 females. And after watching her puppies die one by one from Parvo, before their 6 month B-Day. 3 were adopted the 2 girls and a boy, but all 4 males died from the disease. Now it's like she doesn't want it anymore. She misses her babies.

They make special diapers for dogs. Its pretty hard to keep them on though. You could also use regular diapers. You would just have to cut a hole in them for her tail. But seriously you really should have her fixed. Contact your local APA or PAWS organization for discounted spaying prices. I just paid $10 for spaying and all my dogs shots for 3 years. Its really worth it. I can say from experience that having pups is really hard. They are so demanding and expensive. YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE PUPPIES!!!!! I had 2 accidental breedings this year and it was so hard to deal with and work 2 jobs. Spaying also decreases the chance of cancer in the future.

i had a female Siberian husky and i was going to have her studded....and when she went in to heat i went and bought a pair of boys underwear (tighty whities) and then cut a hole in the back side of the underwear to fit the tail and then put a women's thin pad in the underwear to stop the flow from getting everywhere. Make sure that if she is in heat that when you let her out to go do her business that you go out with her and keep her on the leash. Male dogs can smell a female dog in heat for miles and dogs have been known to jump up to 6 foot fences ....,hope this helps

Be sure to keep her away from male dogs. Her season will last about 4 wks,but if season just started she will breed usually on her 10th day of heat and on up to 3 additional wks.

It cost more to get her fixed while in season, but its an option. We would go to petco and buy a dogie diaper and put pantie liners in it.

Get her spayed. Unless she is an AKC Champion show dog, there is absolutely no reason why she should not be fixed. Backyard breeders are the number one cause of pet overpopulation and poor-quality animals (not real breeders like many people think), and it has consistently been shown that altered animals live longer, healthier lives than those are not.

You could put a dog diaper on her and keep her in the house.
