Definatly.
Besides my Christian faith- I had a near death experience. I was bleeding to death (GI Bleed)
When I finally got to the ER my blood pressure was 30/nothing It possibably went lower but by then I was unconscious. First things when black and white, then my hearing shut down. I laid there before I blacked out feeling so detatched and no fear and there were about a dozen people rushing around me trying to get an iv in etc. And I didn't care, I was at peace. then I went to the white light

I was in the white light that you hear so much about when people have a near death experience. I was so totally at peace and I was traveling fast through the most amazing light. I was thinking to myself...wow this is the day I am dying (I was 50yrs old) Wow this is cool, I don't even care that I am dying. I had a good life, had children, grandchildren, met most of my goals in life. this is amazing I am at such peace, I am ready to go.
Then the face of my oldest grandaughter went past my vision, then my grandson, then when I saw the face of my youngest grandaughter I had a very brief moment of hesitation, which I was telling myself....don't hesitate....But inside of me I knew this little girl needed me. At the time my daughter was a single parent. Suddenly I could hear the noise in the room. I was trying to stay in the white light. I could hear the doctor calling my name and telling me to open my eyes and come back. I didn't want to go back, I didn't want to leave the most incredable place of peace and contentment. I wanted to continue in that amazing white light, I wanted to stay in that place were pain and sorrow were no more. Where I didn't feel one bit of human fraility or need. It was great.

I opened my eyes reluctantly. I could hear and see all that was going on. Being an X nurse I knew I had either died or almost died. I closed my eyes again hopeing to get back in the white light. When I closed my eyes the light was gone.
I am very glad that I didn't die and I hope I live to be a very old lady....but I did get the chance to briefly experience what is to come when I do die.
To answer your question....yes I not only believe it, I have been on my way there.
