Well, you're a little young to be dating, but... If you're both preteens, then chances are he's pretty uncomfotable around girls, too. If he's a decent guy, you don't really have anything to lose by telling him that you're interested in. (If he's a total jerk and going to make fun of you, then you probably should stay away.) I have found that relationships work MUCH better if you're just friends first. Try to talk to him (try things that you have in common, like classes, band/orchestra/choir, whatever) and if he is still as great of a guy as you think that he is, and he seems to like you ok, then tell him how you feel. Just warning you, though-at age 12 a lot of guys aren't really mature enough to handle a relationship- try simple stuff, like school dances and movies

Eye contact first is a good start. Don't rush into things, If he likes you let him approach you first. He may be shy. In that case drop something in front of him and if he helps you know he likes you too. Then wait, it may take a few days but boys are slower at being interested in girls so don't take it personally. Keep ur cool around him, try not to be too obvious. Smile and say hello when he walks past. That's a start! Go from there...

You are twelve yrs. old and you are thinking of boys at this age? you are much too young to start thinking of boys put your thoughts to your school work and extra curriculum activities, there is still plenty of time in your hands for boys when you grow older. I am not criticizing you in any way ,only that think hard in what I wrote, you can be friends with boys your age, and have friendly chats with them, not only with Ray, but other boys, do not try to have a boy/girl relationship at your age because the one that is going to be hurting is yourself. Remember that boys kiss and tell.

slowly become freinds with him, but wait a while until you are older and know him better before dating. work on getting him to notice you for the next couple of years and when the right time/age comes than go for it.

The only thing i would suggest is to get up some courage and just talk to him. About anything school, sports, interests, etc.

Just remember that you're both human. I mean hes just a guy. You've talked to other guys before right? see? Just try to "brainwash" yourself into seeing him as just a guy and relax.

Just start with hi. Once he realizes that you are noticing him -
he will either start to talk more......or he wont.....either way
you have done your part.
I am sorry to say.......it doesnt get any easier as you get older.
Just remember there is NO HARM in being friendly.
Good luck :-)

Either fight your fear and talk to the boy, or move on.
