Please specify which war or military action you are referring to. A battle involving "Hill 112" could refer to almost every war fought...well, other than naval battles!

Hill 112 battle of Normandy
there were 3 major problems
- in the first attacks the troops had to start out of a small bridgehead at the bottom of the valley with a small river to cross.
- they had to attack up hill and the Germans had a splendid visibility down the valley and around the slope are some little villages witch were fortified by the Germans
- the weat was still on the fields and that made a excellent camoeflage for the germans they even had tiger tanks digd in that only the turret was above the groundlevel
