My 13 year old daughter is short 4'9". All of her friends are well over 5' tall and she feels like a shrimp. Of course I tell her things to make her feel secure but I am secretly hoping that she isn't done growing. She hasn't grown at all in the past 6 months and I am getting worried that she might stay so short. Not that short is bad but 4'9 is pretty short for an adult and people might treat her differently. Any ideas when they do stop growing? Anyway to make her grow more? Any advice is appreciated.

Take her to the doctor and ask for hormone injections, that will help her grow. =D

I've always been on the tall side, but I can tell you that I didn't stop growing until college. I thought I had reached my final height in high school, but freshman year of college, I grew another inch. My understanding is that all such growth is done by 25.
If you are concerned about her height, look at both sides of her family and lineage. Are there females a generation or two or three back that are very petite? It's possible she may take after them.
If you are very worried, speak to your doctor or, better yet, an endocrinologist. They would be able to test her hormones, especially HGH (Human Growth Hormone).

I am 53 years old and have been 4ft 11ins. since I was about 11 years old. My grandson was real short and had to have a growth hormone at the age of 15. He is now taller than me and started getting hair under his arms and in his private area. But if your daughter has normal everything else maybe she will just be short.

Generally, a child doesn't actually stop growing until they reach their late teens, say 18 or so. However, if you can have the doctor to do a test of hormones, like the growth hormone, it may help determine if hormone therapy could help at this time in age.

She is only 13 years old. Give her time to hit puberty. And if she has, don't worry, even after puberty you grow.
