There are so many things you can eat. Don't worry about what you can't eat. Don't say might - go get your braces now! I'm an adult with braces that come off Monday!!!!!!! Good luck!

The orthodontist will give you a list of things you cannot eat and things that you shouldn't eat too often.
Honestly, not many people follow the rules. They said not too eat too much pretzels and candy... but I have always ate a great deal of pretzels and candy and I ended up getting my braces off 2 years earlier.
You're not supposed to eat popcorn or chew gum. Who listens.

Gum, corn on the cob, apples, pears (you could eat the last 2, but they get stuck in the little places), jellybeans, caramel, gummy bears (get stuck).
I used to carry a little toothbrush (like a travel one) with me and would brush immediately after eating if I was away from home.

I learned to stay away from things that I had to bite directly off of i.e. pizza, burgers, oh man and salad....those are the worst, if you do eat those, I recommend cutting them into bite sized pieces. You CAN chew gum, just make sure that it is sugar free so that it will not stick to the brackets.

i could eat everything except apples that weren't sliced :( but some people have problems with other things. gum doesn't stick, but you should have sugarless. and really sticky or hard things, like caramel. snickers and twix were ok for me. for like the first month though, you're going to get everything stuck in there. just look in a mirror before facing the world

You can still eat anything you want.... its just a matter of how much time you are willing to devote to cleaning them every day. If you eat caramel you will be doing a lot more scrubbing than if you eat pudding e.g.
Also I would stay away from all kinds of gum if I were you.

For the first 3 days I starved myself. xD Or ate yogurt. I pretty much eat everything now. Except for corn on the cob, and don't chew caramel or anything really sticky. You can suck on it though. Laffy taffys are okay, I had one today. Good luck!
