when i plug in my cable to that tv it only picks up 13 channels, why is that, its dont have a remote and no sensor for one, i looked for something to change it for ant to cable but cant find one can anyone help me out?

it isn't cable ready, back then TVs only had 13 channels available, and if you wanted more you had to use a cable box, so you can either get a cable box from your cable company, or buy another newer TV, or you can use a VCR and watch the channels through that, i know a lot of people using vcr's as cable boxes

I don't think there is a way to do it. If there is a "cable tv-ant" switch on the back of it, that might be the thing. The thing is, back in the 80s some tvs were made for antenna reception only. If you want, you can buy a cable converter which converts the antenna channels to cable channels so you can get all of the channels in.

because it doesn't have one.
Most TV set prior to 1997 don't even have cable or even VCR hookups as standard features.
