I don't have enough time in my life to answer all parts of your questions, so Ill just tackle #1 and #2.
#1 Yes, by adding a tiny bit of orange to your baby pink, you'll get salmon. The redder the orange, the closer you'll get to the color of real salmon.
#2, You can paint Formica, but first you MUST paint it with a primer made specifically for painting Formica. Ask your paint dealer to direct you to this product, and follow the directions on the can
Good luck on the rest

I would go to a paint store or a big box hardware store. They can mix any color (by computer) to be a perfect match for whatever you bring in (color swatch, magazine picture, painted piece of wood, clothing, etc)

If you ask about premix paints on sale they have ones that customers bought and had tinted to a specific color and changed their minds about. If you like the colors that the cans are, you get a real bargain. I know that Lowe's, Home Depot, and Sears do that.

Those premixed ones are a few dollars per gallon.
