The bible and science are not in disharmony as many people think. There are many scientist that do believe in the creation account. An article I recently read mentioned that there is a certain amount of pressure among the higher echelons to believe in evolution, in spite of the fact that it is just a theory. One thing that really impressed me when I studied the bible was the fact that it states that the earth is spherical in shape and hangs upon nothing; this was written long before it was scientifically proven. I was also impressed with the laws in the Mosaic Law; so far in advanced and so different from the surrounding nations of that time that it really impressed upon me; due to the superior wisdom, of the Bible's divine authorship. This as well as many other things has convinced me that there is God.

I think it is due to the fact that Christians don't want to believe or feel that thier faith for so long could be wrong. I believe that there is a creation, but i also believe that things (animals, plants, etc) have evolved since that beginning. Plus if you look at it from this point (1 day to god could equal 1000+ years) then it is totally possible that evolution could have occured.

What we are saying is that science lacks sufficient evidence to prove the Theory of Evolution. Science itself makes the statement that a theory has to have substantiating evidence to be proven correct. Without it, it remains only a theory.
Christianity doesn't have to prove the existence of God. Our job is to present the Gospel of Christ. You either believe it or you don't.

I guess I don't count for this because I'm a Christian that sees evolution as one of God's tools.

But I expect those answers come from people just trying to speak your language. I mean they already know "the Bible say..." and "faith" kind of answers aren't understood very much by people asking for scientific evidence, so what else would you expect them to do?

well - think about it from this angle . . .

Christians say there is a level of "faith" that is needed to be a Christian

Scientists say there is Scientific evidence to prove evolution.

But Christians never said they need/have Scientific evidence to prove Christianity.

Oh but haven't you heard they have a book that holds the words of god. thats all they need is someone to say that a book was written with the word of god and they will take it to be 100% unchallengable truth. well guess what I have a book written with the word of god and it is entitled "I'm a mindless idiot who has no brain of their own"
