Most strains of shingles never go away, just become dormant, so you could have an outbreak at any time or you may never have another one. I read that an estimated 40% of all people will have contracted some form of shingles by age 50.

Yes it is possible. I have had shingles three times and my husband gets shingles on a regular basis (once or twice a year). I am told that it is more common in the over 50 age group or if you have a weak immune system and have been under stress. Shingles can develop in anyone who has had chicken pox.

Yes you can. My mother has had chronic shingles , which is rare, for 13 years. She has had them 100s of times unfortunately.

yes it is shingles are an infection of the nerve ends and they can be infected many times. if you have them get a bottle of colored whiskey and apply it to the rash very liberaly several times daily and they go away in a couple of days.

yes; the virus (herpes zoster) resides in your spinal cord even when you don't have an outbreak. This virus can be reactivated though, and you can get multiple outbreaks.

yes its due to stress.

i have had them twice, both times during a time of intense emotional stress.
