It just means he is confident. Everything else are just possibilities. Because he could be confident while he likes you, or he could just be flirting with you to see if you can maybe be interested in him. Just his way of saying "I'm comfortable around you, let's see if we can move on to the next level." Something like that.

I dont know but I never liked it, I like cute words like babe, but baby sounds like he wants to put a bib on me and change my diper.! HOWEVER YOU LIKE IT..I guess.!
