My god woman dont put a Golden based colour on it now!!!!!!
Adding more golden tones will make it go even more brassey!! you need to put a ASH colour on it as the green base of the colour neutrlises the orange once you have done this you can then put a few highlites in or make it warmer with a all over tint!!

If you are going darker, no. If you are going lighter you will need a bleach to remove artificial pigment. For longer lasting color. Fill the hair first. Pick a color a little lighter than the one you will use later. Mix the color with water, not peroxide. Run it through the ends mostly where haircolor will fade fastest. Let is sit about 10 minutes and take as much off as you can with an old towel, Mix the next color you will use and apply normally. To cut down some of the red, use and ash brown.

It is best to use a professional when it comes to important chemical products such as perms and dyes. I can't tell you how many times I've heard ladies in my family and friends complain that their hair color didn't turn out just how they wanted it. I remember my mom was going for some kind of red color with a golden tint to it, but instead she ended up with a deep red color. Plus if you insist on doing the dye yourself, you Should always do a skin test and strand test before using dyes (The strand test would have done you good because it gives a sample of the outcome). Also extremely important is that Hair should be conditioned prior to coloring hair. Follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly. Using a plastic cap or heat may or may not help. The more volume of hydrogen peroxide, the lighter the color. A lot of coloring products use 20 volume hydrogen peroxide while others use 40 volume. Maybe your coloring product had to much HP volume? Your hair obviously does not have a lot of pigment which does affect the amount of change. I say this because you went way past your mark. My mom has a lot of pigment being a naturally dark-headed woman so she did not reach her mark. There are seven stages of lightening. Black hair will go from black to brown, to red (where my mom ended up), to red-gold (what she was aiming for), to gold, to yellow (I guess you eneded up lost somewhere between the red, gold and yellow stages,) and finally to that real light yellow & nearly white color. Also, you may know what color you want, but a professional stylist would be able to tell you if it will look right for you because both skin tone and eye color determine what is the best selection of hair color for you. I strongly suggest you go to a professional, and you are going to need to buy some good hair products for color-treated hair to prevent further damage and correct the damage you may have already done in processing/coloring your own hair.

first the pre lightner brought your hair to a lighter shade so it did its job. your just in the middle of two steps. put the light brown you want in butNO STREAKS AS THEY WILL TURN ORANGE AS WELL. INSTEAD FOR RELIGHTNING YOUR HAIR, GO TO THE SALON. you already saved more than half the price but if you don't want to have discount looking hair then go to a pro...

The pre-lightener contains a mild bleach which will cause darker hair to go orange. It *should* go to the right colour when you put a colour on it, but to be honest you ought to see a professional and get their opinion. If you keep dying and overdying your hair's going to be the condition of a rat's pubes by the time you're finished.
