I believe in a version of God and I claim no religion. I study a little from all religions and then keep what feels good and right to me. When you claim a religion you shut yourself off to other people around the world that are from a different religion. Just stay open minded.

Stop right there buddy!!! Back away from the religion....

Ok - you're spiritual. You have no dogma to obscure God from your vision and you have all - sorry let me emphasize - ALL of the great teachers from Jesus to Buddha to help you realize God.

Being free to look at all spiritual teachings you'll soon see at their core, they are about love, peace, enlightenment.

Respectfully reject religious authority and the conditions it places on you. Good people irregardless of faith or dogma will know God.

Remember that the saints and sages are signposts and not destinations. Meaning that they point you in the right direction along the path towards God, but they are not to be worshiped as God. You need to know God for yourself.

Stick to your belief, be kind and loving to others as well as yourself and you will know God through the peace that brings you.

Who has convinced you that you need to pick a religion?
"Independence is my happiness, and I view things as they are, without regard to place or person; my country is the world, and my religion is to do good." Thomas Paine from The Rights of Man. Believing in God without a religion usually puts someone in the category of Deist or Pantheist. It's a much more rational approach to God than mainstream religion.

Religion is a system of social coherence based on a common group of beliefs or attitudes concerning an object, person, unseen being, or system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine or highest truth, and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions, and rituals associated with such belief or system of thought. It is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system"[1], but is more socially defined than that of personal convictions. The development of religion has taken many forms in various cultures. "Organized religion" generally refers to an organization of people supporting the exercise of some religion with a prescribed set of beliefs, often taking the form of a legal entity (see religion-supporting organization). Other religions believe in personal revelation and responsibility.

Your believes in God establish a religion, it is your own religion never the less. You are seeker in search of others that are like you. Humans need a sense of beloging this is why you belive in God, to belong to him. Love God with your mind, heart and soul and he will guide you in the right path.

I think the word is "theist", someone who believes in God or a god, but not necessarily in an organized religion or its holy book.

Sometimes the local church and its members and how they treat people is as important as the religion they follow.

Traditionally, if you pray, God will show you what path to follow.

Simple process of elimination.

Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and is the only path to salvation of your eternal soul? If yes, you're Christian (proceed to denomination determination). If no, you're not Christian (proceed to next question).

Do you believe that Jesus is NOT the Son of God, but merely a man and a prophet? If yes, you're a candidate for Islam (further dogmatic questions to answer). If no, you're not a candidate for Islam.

A:
If yes, goto B:. If no, modify question and goto A:.

B: Good luck and best wishes.

Seriously, keep your mind and heart open. Keep asking questions. Determine what's important to YOU and what makes sense to YOU. Follow that path in prayer.

I'll add you to my prayers.

Don't choose ANY religion! God HATES ALL religion. Just stick with God and your bible. If you'd like to find a church, find a nondenominational church where the word of God is clearly taught. Religion is man made and will hinder your relationship with God.

hi ! i believe in god and in jesus as u but he is one of the great prophts, dear do u know wyh religions exists :
because Humanity needs Divine Guidance to lead a meaningful life on earth; and so God out of His infinite Mercy has communicated with us in order to guide us. From the very earliest times, people have been in search of answers for eternal questions, and the One Who could give satisfactory answers is God. So from the earliest times, revelation as a divine guidance has played a significant part in human progress.
God promised people that He would send prophets with guidance to help mend their ways and lead righteous lives on earth. This promise was given by God to all the children of Adam, as Allah Almighty says what means in the Glorious Qur'an:
*{O ye children of Adam! Whenever there come to you apostles from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you, - those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.}* (Al-A`raf 7:35).
Accordingly, God sent His Messengers with guidance to people living in different parts of the world in different stages in human history, to help them lead a life of truth and justice:(Al-Hadid 7:25).

Unlike the Bible and Old Testament that have been subject to innumerable translations, doubtful and spurious transmissions, and corruptions at the hands of clerics up till now (with the “gender sensitive” versions coming out these days), the Qur'an was transmitted to us in an unprecedented and unique manner according to rigorous rules of transmission.
The Qur’an that we read today contains the same exact words that were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) over 1400 years ago. This is quite a miracle, especially when you consider that no other group of people can say that their book has not been subject to change by the time it reached the present generation.
( the quran ,the bible , the torah ) are the three divine religion that descended from god , lastly , i advice u to read about religions ,think again , if u really believe in god.

NB: sorry to write along answer.

Why choose a religion? If you don't have one, perhaps it is because you really, deep down, realize there are no gods. Try reading Richard Dawkin's book, "The God Delusion". It is well written.

It makes you smart. Organized religion is a crutch for the weak. The truly spiritual being finds God on his or her own terms.
