I have recently changed from brunette to blonde...again.

You need to go to the salon and get a full head of highlights using 2-3 colours. You may not get the colour you want straight away as they will only be able to use bleach initially to cover the brown. There are three different shades of bleach that they can use (use all three) and the colour will be nice but not necessary what you want. Once you have a build up of bleach you can then start playing around with different shades and tones.

I always have 2 blondes and a light brown put through mine as it really helps blend root growth.

Be careful if you go for a solid all over colour as you will most definitely have problems with you roots.

Remember to get a really good conditioner and use it lots for the first few weeks as your hair may feel quite dry.

Going back to brunette is actually very easy but again I wouldn't try and do it yourself. The salon will put a toner on your hair (normally bright orange) a bit like a primer to cover the bleach and then dye it with the colour you want. Easy

The problem isn't going brunette to blond! It's if you want to change it back that's hard. To go blonde any lightning product should work. Once you go blonde you strip the natural red out of you hair, So if you want to change it back and you just get a brunette dye you can end up with a lovely shade of green!!
I say if you are going blonde do it yourself and save up the money for a professional just in case you change you mind.

Very easy.
If you want to use dye (not suggested because it will fade a bit) then you can only lighten a two shades (decently anyway)
I suggested bleaching your hair. It lightens the most effectively, and keeps it more natural looking. Instead of it being all one color, some while lighten just a little bit more or a little bit less (not too bad, just like a natural blondes hair would look). This way you can also go as light as you want and it will not fade. Make sure they test some of your hair first to get the right combination of lightener. Some hair pulls different colors (as in, when it lightens, different colors go faster, so you're hair can turn up being a strange color if not done properly). For instance, my hair pulls red, so if the bleach isn't the right cobination, i can end up with orangeish blonde hair when i get mine lightened. But luckily, mine was tested, and my hair is a beautiful blonde.

Pretty easy, I heard it's easier to go lighter then darker. Some crazy girl at my school last year had black hair and dyed it blonde in one dye. Good luck, but i'd start off with blond high lights to see what it looks like.

yea, bleach it in the summer by going in the pool then sitting in thr sun, or you could always just dye it, i dyed my hair a light blonde and it was a semi permenent and it stayed in like 1 year when its only supposed to stay in for 4-6 weeks, then i dyed my hair brunette with the perminent and i left in a few blonde highlights, its easyer then you think, but if u want to dye it dont dye it too light b.c it could look whiteish, (i would know) be sure to follow the instuctions and only use a temperary one (level 1) b/c they stay in longer then u think and its hard to take dye out of your hair! remember not to dye ur hair toooo often b.c it makes it weak and will break easly (specally if you blow dry or straighten or curl it) and remember to but conditioner in it all the time after you dye it!

good luck

I've done this many times and unless your hair is particularly resistant (mine is and still ends up feeling a bit like straw), do it carefully.
It can look really fake and that ugly orange shade is quite hard to avoid. And then there is the constant retouching...
It does take a while to find exactly what suits your hair, I've messed up on few occasions!

If you want to be really blond, and you are dark brunette, you'll need to bleach your hair first, then dye it.

Depending on how dark your hair is and if you ever colored it. Your best bet is to and get someone that specializes in color for hair. Not someone that thinks they know. Because after all your hair is not something you want to mess up. A full service salon is your best bet. You may pay some money but arnet you worth it.

i would say it is easy in practise!! but just be careful. if it was me i think i would do it gradually over time, so it is not such a shock and also, to see if it will suit me there is not much you can do about the wrong colour! we all no that!! also it can ruin your hair, so by doing it little by little you can adjust to the difference of your hair and learn how to manage it. But ask friends and family for their honest opinion.x
