View from the top of the Empire State Building is the #1 MUST SEE, Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock (Rockefellar Center), Central Park, The American History Museum, The Met / other museums, fifth avenue with all of the big stores(Macy's, Saks, FAO Schwartz, etc) Grey's Papaya Stand, get a slice of pizza, Times Square, , St. Patrick's Cathedral, Chinatown (You have to go to the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory store! They have one of a kind flavors and it tastes so good!)

I just went for the first time in April we packed quite a bit into four days and saw so much but I want to go back because there is still so much I have not seen. I had never been to a city bigger than Denver before, it changes your perspective. You will love NYC and miss it when you leave! Have a great trip!

I suggest that you take hold of the maps of New York City or read books or browse the internet before your trip. Plan your trip well so that you can make the most out of it. Start exploring the places which are the farthest from where you are staying and make those nearest you the last. Memorize at least the famous streets.
Winter in New York is really cold, if you are used to this weather, then there will be no problem. However, if you are new to this kind of weather be sure to be well prepared when you make your trip.
Dont forget to ride NY Subway!

If you have the money you should go see a show. "The Spelling Bee" sounds really funny. And "The Lion King" is a must see. "Avenue Q" is a cute show with puppets but it's not for kids.
"Wicked" and "Hairspray" are really great. And since you're coming in December you have to go see The Christmas show with the Rockettes, it's so cool.
There's always something happening at central park shows and events and things like that.
You should go to www.NYC.gov to check out times for things. And they have other ideas for a day in the city.
