Clams can be frozen without losing any taste or texture, however, they should be shucked b4 being frozen. Remove clams from shells, place clams on a cookie sheet making sure they donot touch, place cookie sheet with clams in the freezer, when completely frozen put clams in a baggie (freezer type). This practice is used by commercial vendors selling frozen product to restaurants. Its called IQF - Individually Quick Frozen. They should last at least six months.

I wouldn't trust frozen clams. They'll be dead. So you can't see in the pan if they open or not.

No shells! But if you must, no shells, you can freeze them, no shells. Ever had a piece of gum that was in the center console of your car for oh, what years your car? and you start to chew, and chew and is it getting soft yet? chew some more. I think ya got the picture, now, go wash the car, no shell's

shell fish is best consumed fresh, if you must freeze it cook and discard shellfirst, if you dont you`ll get a first hand intro to salmonella poisoning

I have done this and it affects the texture of the food when you cook it. Fresh is BEST!
