I believe that doing drugs is a sin because the Bible says that one must follow the laws of one's nation. Constantly breaking these laws to smoke who knows what would then seem like a sin, but because they are "addicted" they HAVE to do it. So I don't know. They'd probably do some time in Purgatory.

Drug addicts are in HELL, they are addicted to their drug and most of the time need it to feel normal. Yes at first they got a lot of pleasure out of drugs, but after awhile they need it just to feel normal.
Are they bad people, short answer no, do some addicts do bad things yes, but so do people not addicted to drugs. They are mostly people who made bad choices. No God didn't condemn them, and even people who are pure go get addicted to drugs. Pain killers mainly, sometimes after bad accident the droctor have a choice, kill the pain and take a chance of making the person addicted, or leave the person in pain, which would you choose?
In most cases there is NOTHING you can do to help them, until they want help. Most drug addicts won't admit they have a problem and until they do there is nothing you can do. Once they admit they have a problem, and are willing to take responsablity for their past actions, give the emotional support, take them to their meeting, etc. Help them stand on their own two feet, but this doesn't include giving them MONEY, if they claim they need food, buy food, if they need gas take them to the gas station and pay for the gas. I'm speaking from experence here, too many times I've tried to help someone get off drugs, only to have them lie to me. Once, I started telling them I would buy what they said they needed, baby food, etc, suddenly they didn't need it that bad, or would say they didn't want to bother me, I could just give them the money. The one's who really needed it understood and the other were just looking to buy drugs.

Drug users will not go to hell, they are living in hell already. How would you like to sell or give up everything just to get a fix. Drug users need help but but they have to want help. The most you can do is encourage someone to go into rehab.l Addiction is a horrible thing and I don't believe in a God that will punish a person in the afterlife for a living life that was hell itself. Usually people turn to drugs because something in their life became unbearable and they had to escape into a different world.

I don't think there is anyone in the world that said when they were young " I want to grow up to be a junkie! "
They cannot think straight because of the drugs..
I don't believe the person deep in his or her heart is bad...I believe that the drugs themselves are tools of evil that cause good souls to make bad decisions...
I don't believe God condemns them...I think god loves them just as he does everyone else and it makes him sad that they have gotten to this point...God is like a parent that wants his children to thrive and do good...If your child got hooked on drugs would you say " Go to hell! I don't want to see you anymore!"?
or would you be there when your child needs you to comfort him when he returns to you.
Alot of people with drug problems think of themselves as unworthy we must make them feel good about themselves again so that they not only know that some one else loves them and God loves them but so that they can love themselves...
Be supportive but don't push...this will turn them back to drugs.
If you are not a drug counselor then you should study to be one if you don't have first hand experience.
Addicts who seek help tend to be more comfortable around those who understand their pain.

For starters, preaching at people doesn't always help. In general, people react negatively to what they see as another person trying to change them, they often interpret it as a sort of arrogance.
Only God knows if they are condemned and we are not in any position to judge others, nor know if they are "truly" pure, which in humans doesn't exist, in my humble opinion.
"Getting someone off the addiction" is not going to last long unless an escape route, such as a job, is also in the plan.

Its an addiction. A lot of unplanned things. You can show them places for help but they have to make the decision themselves. They have to be honest with themselves, admit they have a problem and do something about it by asking for help and taking the initiative to follow through.

Even Jesus Christ turned water into wine. Alcohol being a drug. Maybe looking at their actions while they are on drugs would be a better thing to do.
A preist once told me that our bodies are temples to god. Defacing them in anyway is a disgrace to god. But he was fat and another preist in his parish smoked tons of cigarettes.
Can't people be good people even if they are on drugs?

hell does not exist. Life is hard, but God does not inflict on us more difficulties than we can stand. That means one can stop with drugs. So every one who honestly wants to get rid off the addiction is thought to be able to do it this way or that.
