2Ti 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (KJV)
2Ti 4:3-5
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (KJV)

Perhaps it's because as a society we grow, change, and evolve. Christianity and religions do not change or at least they do not change enough for some of the ideas and beliefs to be "realistic" in today's world and how we live.
Also, there's more information to be had. We know more about science and have learned about other religions. We have more options open to us. And perhaps due to this people back off. In return, perhaps Christians see this and therefore try and push their ideas and beliefs out there more, which in turn scares people away, and then Christians get even more upset and come on stronger. It's a viscous cycle I tell ya.

Because Christians insist on a literal interpretation of things few people buy into. The post-modern mind demands ideas make sense to a framework molded around the enlightenment. In modernism, this wasn't quite the issue because the social model was shaped around church. As we broke away from that, the generations that were not indoctrinated from an early age to simply accept the church's doctrine began to refuse it and the churches have not kept up by permitting post-moderns to approach faith metaphorically. This would be a return to the intent of the early Christians, who came from a Jewish tradition of story-telling. They never intended for much of their content to be taken literally. The church responded to the enlightenment by teaching people to interpret things like the virgin birth and such in a literal manner. In short, most people don't accept Christianity because the churches fail to present it in a way that can be reconciled with the post-modern mind.

It is getting harder, because all the Christian leaders in the west have become hypocritical, differing from what they say and do. They are therefore not precieved as credible anymore. This is why people are seeking alternatives, or just become relaxed about the idea of a practiced spirituality.

Perhaps it's hard to embrace something that doesn't make sense in your heart? Perhaps there's another path for you to look at instead. There are many different spiritual journey's that one can take ... and too, one does not need to stay on one particular path forever. Perhaps look into your heart and find out what Truth you feel is there first ... then look for a spiritual path that you think might be able to add a few steps on that journey.

Because the world is growing darker and darker and will not fully embrace anything. The same is true for all religions.
Jesus Christ is the light and that is to be embraced. Christianity is not that light but has cast out Christ. It has joined other world religions in mutual blindness.

people are finally getting able to research more religions, and they either 1. reliaze there is no God, or 2. embrace a new religion [as long as it's not a cult like islam, good for them.]
i think a lot of people however just don't like their religion, so they rebel against it by leaving it. I almost did that with mine. so yeah, i think that's the main reason why people are stop being religious.

Get ready for God to move in America in a big way. Many will embrace Christianity more and more. The religious spirit will become too hard. We will seek Grace of God that is freedom.

There are biblical verses which say towards the end of time people are going to become more rebellious towards God. This is coming true because God said it would. In the west it is because the richer and powerful a nation becomes the more it relies on itself and not on God. Look at the nation of Israel before darning and after they were slaves in Egypt. It is most peoples opinion to solve and live their lives anyway they want until something bad happens to them, then they will turn to God to get out of the troubles. Good times rely on self bad times rely on God , drugs, or suicide it is up to believers to spread the love of Jesus Christ to all who don't know and love Him.

because there are other religions here to you know. wake up and walk outside of your house every once in a while. in the western world we have all types of religions so why should we fully embrace christianity. i'm not accusing you of this, but it kind've sounds as though you're saying other religions aren't as important.

why should they. who says the christina faith is the true faith, better than all the rest. only "christians" or so called christians as far as i am concern. there are many paths to the same end, and to many things in common between all religions to say that one is better than another. but you probabaly would know that because of your myopic viewpoint, and the fact that you "christians" damn yourselves to hell if you read anything other than the bible that was written by oppressive buttheads in the first place. somewhere you got confused with the idea that is was the inspired word of god written by man, and consider it the word of god period. ostrich.
