Is this why there is despair? If he took away despair, then that wouldn't be free-will...Right? Do you think he wanted us to CHOOSE to love eachother? If we loved eachother because we were programed to, then wouldn't that be pointless? We would be like a bunch of robots. I guess even he couldn't come up with win-win solution. There would be no compassion if there was no sorrow, because there would be no need for it. I think he felt that our faith in him would be more real if we CHOOSE to have faith in him. If a kid apologizes because they HAD to, would you REALLY accept it?

Yes He gave us free will. Just think about it, if we knew what was going to happen everyday wouldn't that be boring? If there was no sadness, how would you know when you were happy?Falling in love wouldn't be as exciting. What would be the point if you didn't know the difference?

God gave us free will. But the last person who could freely choose between good and evil was Adam.

Since the fall of man our free wills are limited by fallen human nature and desires. We have a free will. But we have a free will that chooses accouring to the strongest inclination of a heart that has fallen and will limit our choices.

Given mans fallen heart, it will take mercies from God togive us grace to make the right choices. Thats why Jeremiah says "will make a new covenant" "I will give them a new heart" "not like the covenant I made when they left egypt" The New Covenant of Jesus is like a heart transplant and God puts a new spirit in a person breathin life into them helping them desire to chose rightly as they glorify God, leaning on the work of Jesus on the cross believing for eternal life.

I think a God is only worthy of us if that God does more then sit around a do nothing while the people of Africa starve and the people of the many religions still wage war and hate against each other for, among other reasons, to prove which religion is right. And so we don't owe any God anything until that God steps in a does something worthy of our devotion. And that is the only free will we have when it comes to any God.Either you surrender your free will without real reason or you use it and wait for proof.

My question would be where in he Bible does i say that man has a free will. You notice all these believers in free will never use scripture to back it up. They just say "Oh God doesn't want a bunch of robots to worship Him", How about some scripture to back it up. Not even God has a free will, there are many things the Bible tells us that God can't do. He can't lie, He can't deny Himself, etc. So if God doesn't have a free will, why would humans?

Angels only do good and they have no choice. Animals do no evil nor good again because they are programmed to do what they do and have no free choice.

Only Humans alone have the choice to become better than angels or worse than animals. They can become better than angels because they would do good in spite of many temptations and pulls to take you in the wrong direction. Yet you overcome them and do good.

One can become worse than animals through utter selfishness and self centeredness to the point that one not only gets what is not theirs but does not allow others to get what is rightfully theirs.

I hope this makes sense.

What a glorious lovely way to put it! You truly seem like a fellow follower of God. I completely agree, without free will, without the choice of love & hate, we would be tainted. True love for God and each other is the only thing in life to accomplish, all else is failure. :o] Have yourself a lovely day!

Adam chose to eat of the forbidden fruit and because of his disobedience we are all sinners. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Do we have free will like Adam? Yes. It is always whosoever will. You can choose to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins or you can reject it. Romans 10: 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Of course we have free will- even us Christians Choose to worship God.
And God does not make mistakes - no matter how we try to say He does/ did.
Free will does not mean there are no consequences.

Yes. That's part of the reason we're here: to see how we exercise our free-will. Sometimes the righteous will suffer at the hands of the wicked, because God will not take away our free-will.
