I just talked with the Lord about this. He said make sure your church gets 10% first, and then He will provide.
Remember, the 10% is your down payment on Heaven, which is far more important than worldly affairs.

First pay your dues, then pay the tithing. At least that is the rule in my faith, which is Islam. There is a saying from the Prophet of Islam that one should first light the lamp at home, only then they should light one in the mosque.

Your first commitment comes to your immediate family. The Lord Almighty really does not need our tithing as much as those who depend on us for food and shelter, including ourselves.

What is tithing if you become a burden on others later?

I hope this makes sense.

Our church asks for a tithing of time, talent, and treasure. They know that not everyone can tithe their income. There are so many families that struggle to meet their needs with two incomes. Therefore the Church suggests other ways to help out the Church and the needy. Most everyone can afford a few hours a week to volunteer.

Your landlord will not understand if you do not pay rent. God knows that your rent is due. You can pay your tithes when you have employment. You could give a small offering. I would suggest that you consult with your church leaders. Another thought ... are you getting unemployment or some type of assistance? You could give a tenth of that? That is a good question that I am going to ask my pastor.

I thought you are not supposed to give tithes and offerings when they conflict with necesseties of life. If you don't feed your children so you can put the money in the collection plate, that is sinful. If you don't buy an XBoX and instead tithe that money, that is piety.

Take the first 10% of your gross and write a check to your storehouse ministry first thing. When that is done, you have fulfilled your tithe.
God will bless the rest.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the LORD Almighty, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Let me prove it to you!
Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not shrivel before they are ripe," says the LORD Almighty.
"Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight," says the LORD Almighty.

it really is punctiliously depending off of the persons be conscious. There are what's prevalent as "Tithing settlements" that are hung on the best of the year. those will variety from Bishop to Bishop in how they are ran yet as with something contained in the church you at the instantaneous are not forced to do it and although many human beings i comprehend will herald evidence of their income to teach the bishop I have attended various "Tithing settlements" the position i did not deliver any type of documentation and the Bishop in basic terms took my be conscious for what I suggested. there became not in any respect any type of repercussions for those activities and that i became not in any respect regarded upon any decrease. i'm nonetheless and continually were a member in good status of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Now there is one way that a bishop or any member of the church can genuinely tell if a member of the church is faithfully paying their tithing. You seem at how lively they are contained in the church. Being a Latter-Day Saint is amazingly stressful. you want to have an extremely sturdy testimony or you'll fall away, and all to typically even as human beings fall away they modify into horribly embittered in route of the church, in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is a tale for yet another question. someone who has a testimony of this Church will gladly pay tithing and not in any respect because they are conforming or being brainwashed yet because they have contained in the technique of gaining that testimony discovered about the Lords commandment to pay an finished tithe and so the in basic terms want to follow God's commandments.

God does not expect you to give if you do not have it- in other words- take care of yourself- if you have a little to spare- it will be as the poor woman who Jesus saw give a "mite"- she gave a lot because she did not have a lot to give.
It is not the "tenth" that is the importance to God- it is the heart.
After all a tenth of a dollar- is .10 cents.
