That's part of an old cowboy (or hillbilly) song that goes on, verse-by-verse with silly rhymes like you gave here. Name of the song is, of course, "OLD DAN TUCKER" and is sung around campfires, roundups. on cattle drives, and can go on for as many verses as you can remember, or make up.
