I have started a new job and the babaysitter asked me to come up with anhourly wage and I don't know what would be suitable.... Please help I need suggestions. One of my children would be there for 4 hrs and the other one would be there maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.Total of 4 hrs a day

At least minimum wage. Possibly minimum + 1/2 if two kids. I think a consideration too would be what the babysitter is doing for the kids while she is there....preparing dinner, helping with homework, etc. That would be worth paying extra for.

It depends probably on where you live. I have been babysitting kids not so long ago (less than a year!) and the wage in my region (quebec, canada) was about 4$ an hour. However, if you ask your babysitter to do some chores, evaluate her wage in consequence.

It all depends on what are your children's ages. One I see is of school age. Are your kids well mannered? I'd say you both would come out better if you decided on a set pay rate per week. After you both come to an agreed up on amount you can do the math. That'll give you something to go on if she doesn't work out.

In my hometown, we charge our baby-sitters 5 bucks an hour per child. We also pay our baby-sitters 5-10 dollars if they tidy up the house. But thats the usual going rate we do here in my hometown anyways.

17 yrs old and younger = $7.00-$8.00 an hr.
18 to 21 = $9.00-$10.00 an hr.
22 and up = $10.00-$12.00 an hr.

i get paid $7/hr. to babysitt 3-4 kids, but they're my neighbour's.
