Get a lemon, roll it around to get the juices rolling inside. Then put two slices in the side and insert a dime and a penny in the slices. The coins are the two electrodes and they should produce a small current inside the lemon.

We used to stick a copper wire and a zinc wire, but the coins should work if you don't have the wires.

esy enough. place 2 copper wires in a lemon. the copper reacts with the citric acid to create an electric current. however this is not a true battery. a true battery has no less than 3 volts. anything less than that is called a battery cell.
