Everyone's pain tolerance is different. I have a tattoo on my lower back and 6 others. I personally would say, they do not hurt. The only advice I would give here is be very selective on the design you chose because you will have it forever.
Unfortunately, a regretted tattoo such as a name etc...hurts more than getting a tattoo.
Good Luck,
T

I have 6 tattoos and I have been tattooed 9 times because I added on to my existing tattoos. They are so addicting....I have one on my lower back, tribal design from all the way on the left side to all the way on the right side with a rose in the center and I felt that for two weeks after. I guess it depends on the artist if he/she has a heavy hand when they tattoo. The one on my wrist didn't hurt until they started to go underneath it, ouch. I think they are beautiful forms of art. It expresses our individuality.

I have a huge one on my lower back and on on the top of my foot. Neither of mine hurt that bad but it depend on how good you are at pain toleration . But I also she that if the tat didn't hurt atleast a little then you didn't grow from it and shouldn't of gotten it in the first place. But you'll be ok just listen to music or read something and try not to think about it.

The lower back is a very painful area to choose, I just had a large tattoo (10 in across) done on my lower back a month ago. A lot depends on your pain threshold. But you must remember, if it's something you really want, it's worth it, no matter what the pain.

It doesn't tickle, but it really isn't so bad. The outline does sting a bit more I think because the needle is thicker. The color doesn't hurt as much unless they have to touch up a spot or color in yellow over where they already colored in gray (for example) in order to get gold (metallic colored paints are a no-no on your skin), and they go over a color spot twice. That can sting a bit too. I also thought as they got closer to bone or muscle mass it hurt a bit more. The fleshy areas sting the least. Good luck!

I just had one on my right shoulder a few months ago, it was my first. To be honest, I was surprised that it didn't hurt. The last few minutes they did some detailing over an area that was already tattooed, and that hurt a bit....its more like a burning sensation, not super hot......but hot just the same. Go for it! But SIT STILL!! lol Good luck!

Where your dermis is certainly extra sensative the extra it'll harm. Overall it isn't terrible. Sort of like more than one sharp pricks on a sunburn. Depending on how a lot outlining it must pass numb partway via. I in my view discover it much less painful whilst I'm tattooed somewhere in which I can watch it being implemented. Afterwards it'll harm for a couple of days to a few weeks.

Hmmm, yup the lower back will sting a bit. Big or little tattoo? The wrist would obviously be a little tattoo, just tough it out, not too bad.

I think it's a mental thing! I Did very well for mine and i have 3! For me I had them play some System Of A Down and i went to my happy place. then in between that i got up walked around and joked around with the artists, then finished it! It was something i would do again soon! So think about it and see how it goes for you! everyone is different!

There is a small discomfort. It all depends on your pain tolerance. The one I have on my back hurt a little, but it was more irritating than anything. My other tats weren't bad either. If you have a good tattoo artist it makes all the difference.
