because its the way they are made and they are formatted if you need a disk taht can be erased and reused i recommend cd-rw or cd+rw same thing but + seems to last longer but not accepted by all disk readers

CD-R means Compact Disk Recorable
CD-RW means Compact Disk Recordable & Writeable
don't close the session when u burn so u can use the
reaining free space

because they are cheaper to make and buy that way.
CD-RW can be re used

They can be used again. Just don't close the session when you burn your data files.

you can use them as much as you want but if you want to rewrite something then get cd-rw -------------- ????
