What needs to be accomplished in order for our military to get the hell out of there?

Talking points like "when they step up we will step down" will be puked upon.

When the US government has finally forced its preferred method of government on the country, installed its preferred leaders in power (to the sole benefit of the current administration's financial interests there), and brutally crushed any possible attempt at local preference in government: ie, when pigs fly.
Continue to pressure your government to pull your loved ones out of there!

Well the obvious explanation given by the American invaders to their invasion in Iraq was to eliminate terrorism and destroy weapons of mass destruction.Right? So far none of these objectives have been won rather a very distraught and devasted nation emerged on the globe where people dont know what is going to happen the next second. Obviously some American polititian has taken into his head to play god but unfortunatelly he is making a very poor job of it . He ( Bush) thinks that freeing Iraq from Sadam is actually a favor on Iraqis. lots of us at a time believed its true but gradually the truth is sinking in that perhaps Bush would like to sit in for Sadam and his cronies an 'all in all'.The final product will be to leave a nation too devasted to grow for another mellinia.

I assume that the word "responsibly" is an implied part of your question.

I don't know, because I don't know what positive outcome is possible there, which is why I opposed the war from the start. Iraqis are not westerners, which was Mr. Cheney's big mistake, one that has us now royally F'd.

Opposed though I was and am, I actually don't favor a pullout for the sake of a pullout, even though Iraqi public opinion is for us to get out. We have to find a responsible way - it has to involve the Arab League and most especially Turkey and Syria, secular states that have sway in the region.

I don't agree on this statement
"occupying countries like this BREEDS hate and hate breed terrorism for decades to come."

Consider South Korea, Japan and other European countries that we have established our presence when you are making statements like above. Only the extremists don't want us in Iraq. They don't want us there so that they can take over the country.

Don't give me that craps about occupying countries breeds hate because those hatred extremists were always there even when Saddam was still in power. The only reason you did not hear much of them was because Saddam and his Republican troops would gas them if they make any attempts to wage war against Saddam.

Ahhh, the kool-aid runs thick.
I think the question was:
'What Is Considered The Final Victory In Iraq?'
Not:
"What is your opinion of Bush"

I think victory will occur when the Iraqis are independent and responsible enough to protect themselves and operate on their own and have the abilities to make good decisions for themselves as well as build good relations with their neighboring countries so that they may continue to be free from tyranny and oppression. Victory lies within the Iraqi people solely and the rest of the free world is only there to help as necessary. It is their choice to make and they will have to make that choice daily even when there is no other countries there to help.

In the day that America chooses not to aid in the fight for global individual Freedom is the day we all lose.

ALL RIGHT LISTEN UP!
When we started this war, the entire country was breeding nothing but hatred and intolerance for America and similar countries. What happens when an entire country (s) is forced to follow the views of leaders that spew nothing but hatred and violence? They breed TERRORISTS! And what do terrorist do? September 11th anyone?? Has everyone forgotten? What would you have our military/country do? Nothing??? Let things go and go until the next attack? Or maybe the one after that!? You still wouldn't want us to do anything? How about the attack that kills your children, brother, sister, parent, or friend? Then maybe??
All of you anti this anti that type people that can't pull your head out and see the REAL picture disgust me! Think about things!

As for when we will be done, when my job will be done, Is when they have a government that can run a country safely and prosperously without breeding Terrorists and people of like mentalities.

Please read this carefully and consider it.

I am a Republican, a veteran of the Armed Forces, and I am also against the war now. I know as well as millions of us that we are over there for the oil. The oil is needed for this economy and without it we won't survive. We don't have enough of other resources yet to survive off of ethanol and so forth. So we'll be out of there when we have a firm dictation over the oil and that could be years from now.

The Final Victory In Iraq?........when the Americans leave them alone and stop trying to impose their values on the Iraqis.

There's a whole lot of people in this world who do not want to be like Americans and once you realize it, the world will be a far better place.
