The rules of being God are:

1. You can't do anything directly that would allow people to see you or hear you or know that you exist beyond any doubt. You must act in a "mysterious" way.Which is another way of saying don't do anything that anyone anywhere is ever going to know it was you.

2. You can't make things better

3. You can't make things worse

4. You can't change anything

5. You can't tell anyone you're God or reveal yourself

6. You can't change or alter anyone's perceptions or choices because it would affect free will. And everyone knows that they have to worship you by surrendering their free will freely

So, without being able to do pretty much anything, what would you do as God for a week?

A couple of answerers don't seem to grasp the rules of this question.Perhaps before they answered they should first re-examine what it means to be God in modern society. Then answer the question again keeping in mind you can't save the hungry and the suffering people and you can't heal sick people and you can't speak in a booming voice and announce yourself to modern man and you can't basically do anything that could be proved it was you and you alone. These are the rules.Take them or leave them.

You don't understand how GOD works

He shows Himself to you everyday, you just choose to say it's not real so you can not believe.
God makes everything better to those, who ask, and have faith.
GOD never makes things worse
GOD does alter peoples perceptions, again you choose to look the other way because your stiff necked, prideful and rebellious.

Romans 1:20 "There are things about Him that people cannot see---His eternal power and all the things that make him GOD. But since the beginning of the world those things have been easy to understand by what GOD has made. So people have no excuse for the bad things they do.

God has shown Himself to you, open your heart and let Him in.

I was gonna answer your question, but then I had a revelation and realized why god's been behaving so indifferently towards us for the last 2000 or so years.

He's busy checking up on all his other projects.

Think about it... there are billions of galaxies, with trillions of stars. The only reasonable explanation for our predicament is that god setup his "earth" project, and then went off to another planet somewhere else. The mans probably got trillions of planets going at the same time, so maybe he can only devote a few billion years to each one. You know, stops at a planet, gets life going, leaves a bunch of instructions with the best and brightest, and then, hey... HE'S OFF! ZOOOOOM! Speed of light express! On to another world.

So that explains it all. We're on our own, baby!

Maybe he'll show up in a few million years and say,
"holy shat! What the heck did you all do to my planet!?!" Or, maybe he's waiting for us to get off this rock and find him. Who knows?

For one thing, those aren't the rules God follows.
Secondly, God is a whole lot smarter than you. My God, I am a whole lot smarter than you! You leave a lot of wiggle room.
The Holy Spirit can and does talk to people, convicting them of sin and their personal need of His Spirit, showing them what to do to make the world a better place. And it works. The world has indeed become a more hospitable planet for Humans. How else could there be over six billion of us unless God was showing us how to live together?
And he does this all while leaving room for freedom, without making a spectacle of Himself, without using his infinite power, without revealing himself — except by faith.

Can't change anything? Then why be a god? Why would a god have to follow these stupid rules?

I can change things all the time as a mere mortal. I don't think I would want to be a god then not be able to change anything.

Well, since I'd be more helpless than a newborn babe and more useless than a television in an Amish community, I'd just pick up and leave. A universe with a worthless deity is worse than a universe with no deity at all.

I'm sorry where in the bible does God show inactivity? My God is very proactive (Sodom & Gomorrah) Vengeful (Lot) And Powerful (Eden) So with MY parameters

1) start numerous disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, maybe a couple of forest fires & blizzards)
2) inspire numerous people to action in whatever capacity they see fit.
3) Reveal myself in the miracles & surprises of everyday life.

Not in my parameters (Read today's newspaper & let me know if it lines up.)

your rule number 2, 3 and 4 are absolutely wrong. first and foremost no one can be God, but God Himself.

second, if u think that God cant make things better, or worse or cant change anything, then u r grossly wrong my man, b'cos if anyone can make things for the better or worse or change anything, its GOD AND ONLY GOD.

so u better change the rules that u laid down for God.
