Once, at dinner, my Dad - the original doubting Thomas - went up to my parakeet's cage and started chattering at it. This was unreal on a number of levels but mostly because my Dad insisted the bird couldn't talk. My Mom, me nor my Grandmother could convince him otherwise.
So, he is at the cage and "Freckles" hangs on the cage right next to him. Suddenly the bird says, "SHUT UP" in the clearest, loudest voice. My Dad stared at the bird, stopped talking, sat down and finished his dinner. We were in hysterics laughing. The bird never said it before and never said it again.

One avid budgie I had liked to scale hanging electrical cords, starting from the carpet, and working his way up (freaked me out...afraid he'd electrocute himself one day gripping onto it with his beak!) Same budgie also hopped between perches, and the one closest to the cage door, he'd do a complete 360*, head-first, then right himself back up. Guess he thought it was fun.
Had a crazy lovebird. She tamed the rabbit with a sharp peck on his nose and chasing after him, wings flapping and shrieking.

My best budgie is called Juno (Pic ID) He lives inside. He comes with me everywhere I go. He loves to come out with me in the car and I take him shopping, he hides in my bag when we are in the shop.
He hates it when I have to go out without him and he sulks and is moody with me when I get home. He sleeps on a swing above my bed and in the morning he jumps down and bites my feet to wake me up - he's my alarm clock!!

I have four hyper budgies and I have one that talks. The funniest thing I heard was when he imitated my laugh.
