Vampires are real?

I have heard that vampires really rock to Billy Idol and that Iggy Pop is a favorite though Mr Pop has vehemently denied this. I wonder why he gets so hot under the collar about that? But because of Idol I would say they are into late 70's and early to mid 80's punk. Obviously, The Clash would have been a major "love" of theirs. I once heard that Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers threatened to oust Sting from The Police if he didn't cut out his Vampire-like shenanigans but reputedly, he told them he was going solo anyway, and he threw them out of the band. This was a tragic loss as Copeland and Summers are both fine musicians. Summers was reduced to teaching kids how to play the guitar and Copeland actually lived on the street for a time. The three were reunited when Sting received several blood transfusions from fans (the rumor is that Summers was involved in this intervention); and Sting suddenly found that he was evolving into more of a jazz musician and the three came together for a triumphant reunion. Though the three still play separately, Sting credits his two mates with, as Sting puts it, "bringing him back to the light."

Do vampires exist? I would have to say a qualified yes. Are vampires as portrayed in fiction books and movies real? Are there really vampires that can turn into bats, can't go out into the sun light, and live forever? To that, I would a qualified no. I say no based on my knowledge and experience with the real vampire community. I have never met a vampire who fit that definition, nor have I met anyone whom I would believe that has met such a one. However, if you use an alternative definition of vampire, I would say they do exist.

Vampires as understood by the real vampire community, are, as a whole, difficult to both qualify and explain. The one trait they share is that they require external sources of life force (energy, prana, what ever you would like to call it). For one reason or another, they are unable to obtain enough life force to live normally, or they are unable to use the life force they have in an efficient manner. Because of that, they must seek out life force elsewhere, either through blood feeding or psychic feeding. That said, neither type of feeding requires the death of the donor (as popular mythology requires). In addition, those who are vampires may have any number of other traits, from a sensitivity to light to intolerance to certain foods, and other ailments.

Furthermore, it is held with in the vampire community that vampires can not be made. The theory on siring or turning a person into a vampire is not real. Vampires, however, usually awaken to their vampire nature over the course of their lives. Some never awaken, some only partially awaken, and some fully awaken. Different events can trigger this awakening, and information obtained by the newly awakened vampire can often determine how they handle this awakening.

As to finding real vampires, that is a challenge. They don't prefer to be found more often than not. They prefer to stay "in the coffin", so to say. This is because they are often not accepted in "normal" society. Such a lack of acceptance can lead to problems in the vampire’s home life, as well as their professional life. Because of those potential problems, many vampires don't tell others about their nature.

I am a vampire, and I support the real vampire community, as well as those communities which support it. I am a member of ShadowLore, which seeks to enable understanding between others in regards to the vampire community, as well as other groups, such as therians, fae, and angelic.

Like I said before yes I am a crazed fan of vampire romance novels like the ones by Susan Sizemore and Maggie Shayne but even those to would tell you vamps are fictional creatures. Not real. So no vamps aren't real okay. IF they were they'd be literary insane. So do u want to be insane too?
If u want to be a goth thats fine. But Goths aren't vampires.
