I have a digitial camera and I was using it yesterday when I was going to take a picture of trees and I realized it has a severe crack in the window. It's not on the outside but internally. I turned it on and a black bloch is there now so it won't read my memory card. I want to know if I can take it to a repair shop to repair. I don't have the funds since I'm in college and my camera meant a lot to me. Is there a way to repair it?

I always kept it on a shelf out of harms reach and always kept it in its case so I don't know how it happened, any help is greatly appreciated.

How old is your camera? If it's still under warranty, take it back to where you bought it and see about sending it back for repair. If you've been taking good care of it, it shouldn't crack like that, unless you took it from a very warm room out into the freezing cold.

I'm sorry to say, if it's not under warranty, it probably won't be cheap to fix. See if you can get a repair estimate, and decide if it's worth it, or if you should just save up for a new one.

Oh, man, I am so sorry!!! I just had that happen. My daughter broke my beloved Agfa and put it away without saying anything!!! I had to buy a new one. I got the HP E427 and it's a great little camera.

The old Agfa is to far broken to be repaired = way to much money, so eating cheap lunches for a week bought the new one which was just over $100.

I'm going to say yes, it can be repaired, but look out for high costs!!

Good luck, I know this didn't help you much.
