Normally I wouldn't even touch this question with a ten foot pole but.....My family background comes from royal dukes and biships from Poland but my great grandfather was thrown out of his family at the age of 13, leaving 16 brothers and sisters working a poor farm and was sent to the states legally where he eat out of garbage cans( which is worst than fresh rats) while bettered himself and got somewhere in life.My great grandfather did not come over here looking for respect from Americans, He earned it. My great father not only became very very wealthy working three jobs but had family values that are hard to find anymore or these days. my point being... he could have smuggled all his brothers and sisters into the states and they all could have started welfare and started stripping Americana's of they're government Bennie's and income but he didn't and for one reason...they were not Americans. In my opinion...it doesn't matter what country a person comes from, illegal is illegal and stealing is stealing. charity starts at home and we all have our big dark eyed babies with big malnutrition bellies stickin out, you don't have to go to a third world country to find this because it's in our own back yards. Too many people take OUR welfare for granite starting with Americans. All the talk right now is about the Mexican borders but how many people know that there's a bigger immigration problem with the Canadians sucking up our welfare because an old retired couple can't make it on their retirement program. I personely know people that are waiting on their working VISA's to come over here the right way and that's what this comment is all about!! Comming to America the RIGHT way! everyone is welcome, we don't segragate and push people away. My family and group of friends tries to make everyone feel welcome and it doesn't matter what color of skin you might have or what back ground you come from. Here's the bottom line the way I see it...Eithter your a decent person or your trash and trash doesn't have a color or a back ground. Oh ya...Equal Oppertunity? shouldn't that start with standing in the back of the line and waiting with all the rest of the immigrants that would like to come to America THE RIGHT WAY? Your comment" white people have everything eaiser right"? the most discriminated person today is the middle class single white male and I'm sure you have heard of a all ***** collage fund and a all hispantic collage fund but what do you think would happen if there was a all white collage fund? or white history month?

Why is it that you and the rest of your followers don't get the point about what's illegal and what's legal immigration. The American people are against illegal aliens, against illegal immigration coming from any where. The only reason that we talk about the Mexicans is because the majority of the illegal aliens, come from Mexico. So stop being incomprehensible because what you are showing is the other side of you being intelligent. Thank you

Okay, that is a really big generalization, plus why would they enter the country illegally and not work? You're story makes no sense! What is the point of living here if they just ended up living in a tent eating rats? Could you give your story more of a context please.

If you see people living in tents along a polluted river eating rats and have not done anything about it, shame on you. I don't care what color they are. If things are that terrible for them they wouldn't be coming here illegally or legally. I think you made all that up, but if you didn't post a source I can look at and I will find a way to help these people.

Normally I don't open links.. but I did.. that article was written in 1999, speaking of a "small number" of Polish immigrants with expired visas, you say "refusing illegal housing and jobs.." the article says they are homeless due to alcoholism.. much like our own homeless.. I volunteer at a soup kitchen one night a week serving the homeless.. what do you do?

What in the hell are you talking about? Russians get more help from our government then anybody. Our government pays for them to come live here. They give them free vouchers for cars and houses and schooling. In the stores they are the rudest people. They cut in front of you in line, and push you out of the way. Then they glare at you like you need to bow to them. Do some research before you ask those kind of questions.

If Poles and Russians are here legally they have access to the same benefits that LEGAL Latinos do and need to be educated about these services so they too can realize the American dream. Maybe they have more pride than the millions that have easy access to our borders went unchecked for so long they take us for granted.

They want to wave the Mexican flag, send their earnings back to Mexico and expect our taxes to pay for their children, education, housing, health care.

And the point of this is? I have sympathy for anyone, of any color or nationality, who is struggling. But what is the point of this? I need to know specifically what you're trying to say. If this is concerning financial aid specifically for European Americans, then don't talk about it here, talk to government officials. That is their job, isn't it?

That's a pretty bad situation .I never knew that at all .Thank you for the link.

Stefanie I know that you think that the only people in the world that have it hard are Mexicans and you are so biased and so wrong.A lot of people in this country live in abject poverty. Its ludicrous to think that one would have to live that way in this nation..I feel compassion for any one in that position. But yes if they are illegal they need to be deported. No difference.
