I know this young woman and her name is Kristi. We have been talking for a few weeks and getting to know each other and so forth. I have been invited by her twice to see her at church sing and I was invited to have dinner with her family this past Sunday too. I have really enjoyed our friendship so far and from what she has said she is happy with it too. I plan on asking her out only when the right moment comes into my heart and when our circumstances in the friendship permit it and want to know if praying over it with her is a good thing. I would like the answers to be directly about this and not irrelevant issues. We have a good friendship and that is something that we work on each day.

I just wanted to add here that both me and Kristi are Christian's and that is why I mentioned the praying issue.

I probably should just ignore some people on here and I do for the most part, lol, but I guess some folks cannot help themselves in saying something totally out of line and irrelevant to my question here. I am a happy man with a decent life and my friend is happy and she is glad that I pray with her and go to church. I guess unless you are a Christian that you can't understand why some of us still want to do things by the book and that includes no sex till your married, makes things better when you got someone almost like you that it is a help and blessing. Much peace and joy to the folks who give me rude or mean answers.

Praying on it with her certainly could not hurt. I pray with my husband two or three times a week. Our bond is stronger because of it.

This is a new one...(not a bad thing) I would have to say that praying at meal time or praying with one another for someone else, if moved to do so, would be good. I'm not sure that praying about the relationship, at this point, would be appropriate. You can certainly pray for God's will regarding the relationship on your own. Just MY thoughts.

In reading your letter I presumed that you are a religious person? Is it true? I guess you both go to the same church, and see each other frequently at the services. Answering your question about praying with her about going out is it really a good idea?, ask yourself this question why do we have to pray about having a date together? are you an insecure person that you have to ask the Almighty for his participation in it? if I was your lady friend I would think twice in going into a relationship together, You sound like when you get married you are going to ask the Almighty for permission in having sexual relations with your wife. Excuse me for being so blunt but, in reading what you wrote you sound like a cold person without emotions.

No, don't pray with her. It just doesn't feel right. And often whatever God tells you, you will interpret it as "go have sex"
What I would suggest is, take it slow. Pray to God that He will lead you to the right lady no matter what. Pray it on your own. Set your mind neutrla and let God settle your mind on either dating her for future wife or just to continue the friendship.
Best of Luck in finding your future wife.!!!!

I dont know about the first date. I think that after a few dates, if it turns into more of a relationship, as long as the two of you agree, then pray over your relationship.

If you know she is church-y then go for it. I personally would run away screaming if a man suggested this. But I am not religious, so maybe that has something to do with it.
