I agree with redlever on the most part, but the problem is you have to start from the inside out. Beauticians won't tell you this. I had to learn the hard way. Especially for black people, whether male or female, iron is a big part of hair and nail upkeep. My hair started to fall out when I was getting my first degree-to the point that I thought something was seriously wrong with me. Then once I stopped stressing, my hair stopped falling out, but it wouldn't grow. My mother told me when she trimmed my split ends, "you better start getting some greens in you, or your hair will continue to fall out and it won't grow." I took her advice and started eating more green vegetables, which I love my greens anyway, and then finally when I wasn't able to get greens, I put myself on an iron supplement. My hair is now down my back.
I do braid it. I don't believe in straightening my hair, it will be natural for eternity. But keeping it moisturized is a huge deal as well. And yes, dreads look great, sexy on black men. Two Words-Makai Pheifer.

I do not suppose it's rather feasible to make your hair develop quicker, however you might make it develop more fit. I have lengthy hair, and at a distinctive factor, it begins getting bad. Of path, trims are fundamental to maintain your hair healthful, however be certain that you just are not trimming your hair greater than it grows. You can regularly ask your stylist to simply trim essentially the most minimum quantity while you move in. For me, that is mostly simply part an inch. I additionally hardly ever sort my hair utilizing a blow dryer or warmth. The extra you employ the blow dryer and warmth together with your hair, the extra ordinarily you must get trims, and the slower it'll take on your hair to develop. I additionally wash my hair within the early night so it has time to dry at night time earlier than I must be anyplace. I wash my hair each and every different day, since washing too ordinarily will dry hair out. For the times I do not wash my hair, I simply clip it up within the bathe. Some new matters that I am making an attempt: Combing my rainy hair with a opt for rather of a broom since hair is extra fragile whilst it's rainy and the comb breaks hair simpler. Good success!

I am a licensed Barber/ Cosmetologist, who has specialized in ethnic hair. Priority one, use moisturizing products to keep your hair healthy while it grows. Avoid blow drying or hot combing during the initial growth process. Once it becomes long enough, you will probably want to braid or dread it. The latter choice, of course, is my favorite. It needs less upkeep than braids, and always is a sexy look for black men. Dreads can be started when the hair is very short, by twisting and applying product to the hair.
Braids can be quite stylish as well, and you can change styles each time you have your hair re-braided, giving you endless opportunity to show your Unique Style!
Good luck!

Well, if you fail to cut it, chances are it will grow! LOL
Why not do those adorable little tiny dreads, like Lee Jordon wears in the Harry Potter series. They bounce so cute! Of course, they would look silly on a guy who had any amount of grey mixed in; but for a young man, they are really sexy to me. And of course, they do get longer. I like dreads if they are kept small and neat.

brah, dont cut it, start out by getting twisties once it becomes half and inch to 1 inch long. then when it gets 4 inches long start braiding it up. Keep braiding it and 1 year from now your hair should be long.

This may seem strange, but eat gelatin (not jell-o). It also helps with your nails... don't even think about asking how i know that.
