No, needles or Novocaine are used to put on braces.
The orthodontist uses glue (a special kind of glue) to put the braces on your teeth. He/she will use special tools to put in the wires.
It doesn't hurt that much. I got them as an adult. I needed a Tylenol when I was done, other than that, no big deal.

For 95% of people no lidocaine (they haven't used novicaine for 50 years) is needed for braces. In 5% of people lidocaine is needed because the doctor has to cut the gum. If you have any questions, you should ask your Orthodontist. After you get your braces remember to brush your teeth and floss using a special flosser.

Nope. No needles or the gel stuff either. Just your mouth gets really dry but once your braces are on its fineeee.

No needles, just the braces. It's not bad at all and well worth it.

No, u do not. It is not a painful procedure. The only time u might have some pain and discomfort is after the change and tighten your arch wire and the ties on the brackets. Your results will look great after they are taken off, just think of that.
