By sexual impulses I take it you mean casual sex outside of marriage.
Well here we find church teaching to be quite clear. Sex outside of the marriage covenant is fornication and is a sinful act.
Whether you choose to have sex outside marriage is a personal choice as with all things but in choosing to go against the path of God then our relationship with Him is damaged. that is to say in the same way as an earthly parent may ask us to be obedient and respect them. If we choose not to then our friendship is damaged in the same way. Once we are disobedient once then the next time we have to choose it is easier to choose disobedience the next time. The difference between a saint and a sinner is that a saint keeps on trying despite his or her sins to come closer to God.
May God bless you!

God created sex for a reason. He made it work the way it does for a reason. It is quite possible that we could populate without pleasure so that is not my point. It was all his idea. He wanted us to have fun with it. But rather you are a catholic or not doesn't make the difference. He asked us to follow a couple rules which are really actually healthy when you look at them. Trying to use the exuse of not being a saint but merely a sexual being doesn't cut it for me.....I don't think it would work for God either...or maybe he would of said you sexualbeing catholic cozicat may be exempt from these rules I've made...Maybe?? Do you not think St. Mary was a sexual being or Mathew, Ruth or Joan were.. its how you act upon the choices you've been give to make.
Because the choice is yours to make

Certainly, you can accept that we're not saints, and that we're humans who basically cannot control our own animal urges. While we're at it, let's just go all the way and sin for the heck of it......I mean, God should understand right? I mean, he knows it's just human nature to do whatever we feel. Since we're going to follow our own rules, why not let God know how he should run things.....I mean, I'm sure he needs help.....he's not exactly perfect himself.....right?
What does your conscience tell you is right, and what is wrong? If you have nothing holding you back conscience-wise......go for it! The question I have to ask you is.....how will you feel afterwards? It's very easy for us to justify our actions and our thoughts when we really want something, or have a certain need for something. The truth is that in the end it's all about what you believe.....if you believe you have reason on your side, by all means Go for it.....all I'm asking is, Don't make GOD part of the excuse.
Best of Luck!

No offence to anyone who is reigious. Sexual urges are there for a reason. If god didn't like any of us having whatever urges we do have, then we would not have them!! Your all individuals, with your own thoughts, feelings, urges, whatever. There is nothing wrong at all with acting out or performing these urges, as long as you are not actually hurting anyone or anything that has the ability to feel.

We have all been given the capacity to learn and expand ourselves, that is what makes us human, if that means you want to follow a sexual impulse to it's end then do so, it's your choice, no one elses, you learn from things that you experiment with.

Whether your Caltholic or not, it makes no difference, why do you have to follow what the bible says, it's a book, nothing more.

I am not religious personally, I have read various parts of the bible over the years, and find that the biggest part of it is open to interpretation.

You have every right to a sexual relationship/impulse, whether your religious or not, it's your choice, not societies, or even god's choice, and as for having a relationship with god while having sexual impulses, if he/she (god) didn't like or want you to feel these things, then you wouldn't, would you??

Think about it, question yourself and the bible, don't just take it litterally and think that it's right and that everyone else is wrong.

Without the sexual urge, the species would die out - no se, no procreation and no babies. Without the sexual urge, we would not be attracted to others and probably never get married.

On the other hand, God created us with more self control than mere animals. Sex is a gift from God that is for the marriage. When we have sex outside of marriage, we misuse and cheapen that gift.

Think about if someone gave you a very nice blouse and the next time you see that person, he sees you using the blouse to wipe up a mess you spilled on your floor. If you misuse your gift of sexuality, it effects your relationship with the one who gave you that gift - God.

As a Catholic then you must understand that we have been given a charge to rise above our natural instincts and not fornicate just for fun . Monkeys are the only other mammal that does it just for satisfaction. If one wants to just wallow in their flesh then I am afraid that when the flesh dies they will go along with it. The flesh is a strong temptation but it can be overridden just like all the Saints and the Apostles did, through the grace of God. You can not be a fornicator and go to Heaven.

Why would you seperate your self from saints, they weren't perfect they sinned as muchas us they might have strived for perfection more then us and note they were human... and yes if your not married imo i think it's wrong... and if you have a true relationship with God then you can do his will not yours that is acting on human nature... and i think its taught that once you have commited mortal sin without repenting you are cut of from sanctafying grace which is needed for a sincere relationship with God... anyways if you want to have a relationship with God that means you look forward to the afterlife if so why would you risk it just to have a few moments of earthly pleasure... and trust me its truly good to wait till your married even though you might not think so now.

Yes you can be a sexual being and be religious. Sex is a gift from God and is there for us to live and recieve love. I am not enamoured of any religion that says sex is wrong. All that does is to screw people up and make them feel guilty about natural processes. You will NOT go to hell for having sex! That is a lie of the first order, believe me. The people who tell you that have sexual problems rather badly, hate themselves and their bodies and hate even more those who enjoy their bodily sexuality. You have a gift from God in your sexuality, use it profitably and wisely. Love from Tim.

In marriage, we can have a relationship with God and sexual relations with our spouse.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Fornication, sex between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, is contrary to their human dignity and the dignity of human sexuality.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.

With love in Christ.

A sin is only a sin if you know it is wrong. If you feel like pre-marital sex is wrong then tell the priest at confession and ask God to forgive you. If you do not think it is wrong you should not feel guilty, God will not punish those who do not know/believe they are sinning.
By the way you cannot bluff this and say you think it OK when really you think you are doing wrong, God knows everything.
We can always have a relationship with God, He will not turn His back on us no matter what we do as long as we have faith.
