Technically yes. This issue surfaced in a news article about two months ago. Someone sued a tavern for allowing a patron to leave drunk. The contention was since the tavern supplied the licquor the bartender should be responsible enough to know when to stop serving. That would easily carry over to the company picnic.

So, if someone helps or allows another person to get drunk they must assume responsibility for them.

Yes, I believe so. It's also the same for the establishments that one drinks at too. If they have served you too much, they are liable if you get into an accident. If ever in doubt though, one should take care of themselves and prior arrangements or take a cab. However, by law in many states the establishment has to make the call whether or not to serve you any more drinks.

Yes. But the way around it would be to hold the event at a restaurant or bar which makes that establishment liable.

If the alcohol was provided then yes they can be held liable.

Depends on the state, but the answer is almost certainly yes. In some states you would have some protection if you were at a bar with professional bartenders, but you would very likely still get dragged in.

Anyone can be held liable for letting someone leave their party drunk. Even bartenders can be held liable for someone leving their bar too drunk.

yes. that's why companies don't party much anymore. They could also be responsible for a customer or guest as well.

absolutely. moreover, if he/she is in an accident the company can be held liable.
