Rather buying books u can learn from the help topics available in the excel itself, it will be interesting also, ex: type any word in the excel field, take the format menus c what happens when u change it.., then take the function menu, work on numbers c.. something like this which will be really good and we can even learn those which are not given in books also..Try it u will enjoy it..

Just buy Excel for Dummies from amazon and it will be worth the investment rather than look for some cheap free option. You have to spend some money sometimes to get on. Do u have libraries in India? If yes got it from there or perhaps your employer will buy it for you. G/Luck
