Maybe you could share some true stories of kids who were huffing things and died. That may scare a little bit more caution into her. Just recently a student in a local middle school around where I live died from huffing chemicals. It's unlikely that anything too traumatic will happen from markers, but if she moves on to other things she could be in a lot of danger.

Red flag! Any child who is huffing chemicals will probably try more dangerous ways of getting high in a heartbeat. This child needs serious professional help. Even though it is just markers and kids will try stupid things, he definitely needs to be educated on the dangers to his health. Print off all info you can on huffing and make him read it.

Don't you just love it when you are genuinely concerned and people make jokes? Tell the school, (the principal is the best) and let him know you want him and the other kids he's doing it with supervised. If he says he doesn't have time to do so, inform him it could lead to a law suit, since he was advised about it. I'm sure he'll make the time.

Eh? Does this mean sniffing marker pens? If so, he is risking his life.
You need to get him help. Maybe have a look at http://www.re-solv.org/default.asp for some ideas as to how to handle it.

if thats throwing, then throw one back

You could try rubbing his face in his own poo. No..wait..that's for a dog who won't stop crapping in the house.
How about not giving him/her any markers to begin with.

My goodness, you need to speak to a PROFESSIONAL about that, not ask the advice of yahoo trolls.
Brain damage is not reversible... and her brain is STILL GROWING.

its a phase, i did it as well as other classmates. they think it cool or funny or just wants to see wat it does to u. if you make a huge deal out of it they are gonna keep doing it. its so true that kids want to do stuff even more when they are told not to by thier parents. just tell the teacher to keep on eye out for it.
