Thanks to the snotty people that made the snide remarks. I was not complaining I love serving on jury duty, I just think they should pay more!

Actually, congratulations on doing your civic duty. You should be proud, truthfully. Having practiced law, we were always looking for competent, conscientous jurors. The joke used to be that other than postal workers, retirees, or tinker afb workers, you had no jury pool of your peers.........but that has gotten better here.

We had a judge that used to run jury pool and heard excuses.......one of the main ones was, hey, I was losing money to be here from my job and could make more money there, etc. Only ones he left off were people who DIDN'T make more money at their jobs..............LOL

You really are to be commended and you made someone's day by serving. Think about if roles were reversed and you were a party to the lawsuit.....wouldn't you want qualified people on your jury?

A good employer would pay you for the day you missed. When I was on jury duty, my employer paid me even tho I was not there. Then I turned the small amount I made for jury duty over to him. It worked out nice and I owe a thank you to the employer.

Save it and thank God you live in a country where you can be on a jury. People in some countries aren't so lucky.

Yeah, you wonder why people try so hard to get out of it...

I heard another quote, but I don't know where..it was about going to court..."yeah, I want to be judged by 12 people too stupid to get out of jury duty..."

scary!

Get that $10 bill and slap the character who ever came up w/that sorry excuse of payment. It should be changed to equal of the amount you get paid for being an important part of society.

MJ had the best answer.

I hope that the others, when their time comes, will be judged fairly -- by a jury of cynical peers.

Have yourself a great lunch. Enjoy the rest of your day off. $12.50 might get you a train ticket to the airport!?

You did your civic duty. If you only were paid 12.50 you weren't inconvenienced for long. I suppose you would like to raise our taxes so you could be given a bigger compensation.
