How old are your children? You know, there are no toys out there that can match the brain power one on one time with mother/father can give. Humans are social animals, and babies and children learn by imitation. They are most stimulated by the voices and faces of their parent(s). Older children need to engage in real, authentic, old fashioned play, especially with other children. Children learn to socialize, to negotiate their surroundings and manipulate their environment. Play gives them EXPERIENCE, and this is how learning occurs. Toys do facilitate this, but I believe no toy is necessarily better at this than any other. Legos are just as likely to provide the stimulus needed as the Baby Einstein or V-smile toys. These are all just marketing ploys, designed to make parents spend loads of money in the hope these toys will turn their children into geniuses. It just doesn't work like that. The best thing a parent can do is provide a stimulating environment where they are actively playing with and teaching their children every day.

there are many toys but its not them alone that makes your child smart you need to make sure they know how to use it correctly. there are many web sites that you can look at that have learning toys listed and parents reviews for each item depending on their age and what you want them to learn. www.learninghorse.com , www.barnesnnoble.com,wwwtoysrus.com, also just put learning toys in the search engine and you'll have more list then you can look at...anything with repetition,or reading is a good start

Educational board games are pretty good. My son loves to play scrabble(he's 9) and it helps him learn to spell.
Both my kids also had a portable game system called leapster that was sort of like a gameboy that had educational games that taught spelling, colors, shapes, reading and math skills.
And although they're not considered "toys" books will make your kids smart!

It isn't a toy that you are looking for. What you want to make your child smart is 1. Talk to them every moment -even if it is describing how you are putting food in a spoon. 2.read to them (even if they are not old enough to keep spit in their mouth)when ever you are not talking to them.3. let them play with you and alone- experiment, make a mess. 4. patients. babies are like a finger print no two alike. Good luck and many happy hours.

board games...various types of games dealing with numbers and alphabets, depending on the children's age. Each toys/games will give the intended age group, so check for that. Maybe not the action figures, but they can play with them for fun.

Most childern learn from watching there parents. Not the TV! Find something that will hold your child's interest & keep them motovated! God Speed! It would be easier, if they came with a Instruction manual!
