My son got off the bottle at 10 1/2 months. It is very hard trust me and yes she will cry for a few days but hun it gets better. Give her a sippy cup and see if that helps. The only reason I took my son off so soon is our darned kitter kept stealing his bottles and chewing threw the nipple and i got sick of buying new ones. Try Nuby sippy cups they have nipples that are like bottles and you can change then to normal sippy nipples once she is ready. I hope that helps.

You could try by putting less and less in the bottle. Or try a smaller nipple opening. Another idea i've heard, although not a big fan of, is to put something more appealing in a sippy or something yuckier in the bottle. Although if the bottle is for comfort, move to books, songs, stories, at night.

I just started giving my son a sippie cup during the day, and only gave him a bottle right before bed ONLY in the highchair.... he did not like this so when he was done he'd want down, eventually he decides this was too much work for a bottle, and I told him bottles are going bye bye and I brought them to the new baby in the family, his cousin and told him the baby needed the bottles now, he gave one to his baby cousin and we were done.
He cried only a few days after that, I kept reminding him he gave them to the baby.

You may want to try the Nuby sippy cup it has a soft nipple like a bottle. I used it for my son when I had to wean him. He pushed it away at first..but when he realized no more bottle...he took it but the 1st two nights he cried and fell asleep. So hope this helps you good luck!

I got mine off the bottle by patting their back or rocking them to sleep, until they were use to not having it. It makes it harder to get them to sleep, but what ever works is worth a try.

all i can say is 'persistence' is key.. get her to throw her baba in the garbage herself and say 'bye-bye baba'.. the first 3 nights are the worse.. but she'll get over it.. give her a small drink in a cup to sooth her.. other then that. chuck all the bottles out in the garbage so you're not tempted to 'give in' ..
