Lets start with the definition of scientific theory:

In science, a theory is a proposed description, explanation, or model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind, and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise falsified through empirical observation. It follows from this that for scientists "theory" and "fact" do not necessarily stand in opposition. For example, it is a fact that an apple dropped on earth has been observed to fall towards the center of the planet, and the theory which explains why the apple behaves so is the current theory of gravitation.

Evolution does not predict how life first arose. It explains and predicts what happened after.
Evolution has nothing to do with Big Bang theory.
Got it?
Why do people confuse these basic things?

My question isn't about accepting evolution or not, but why people are confused about very basic concepts.

Did you bother to read the definition of theory?

Evolution and the Big bang theory are two seperate things, yes that's true.

But they both, seem, to contradict the beggining of the Bible and undermine the literal translation of it. For this reason they get lumped together, because the creation story explains both the beggining of the world and the beggining of man.

Evolution and the Big Bang theory do not do this. I understand that. But to those who take the literal word of the Bible to be true, they seem to. According to the Bible God created the world in six days...He didn't click his fingers and cause a massive chemical explosion that resulted in all of this being created.

He created man from dust and woman from the rib of man, he did not place a few organism on earth and let natural selction etc etc do the rest.

So you see? That's why they get confused, even though evolution and the Big Bang theory have nothing to do with each other, they have a lot to do with the creation story so they get lumped together.

A theory is merely a guess, look in any dictionary.

Evolution is voodoo science that has NEVER been proven.

Once a scientific theory is proven, it is then called a LAW. But it is still the THEORY of evolution, because it has NOT been proven.

Gravity is explained by the LAW of Gravity, which was proven.

Evolution says life evolved, but since life can't evolve from non-life, then evolution is proven false because there has to be a very first life form, and it had nothing to evolve from. DUH!

Evolution and the Big Bang are closely tied together in the scientific community theory-world.

Why are YOU so confused? Maybe because Darwin made a monkey out of YOU!

I personally don't have a problem with the theory, it's when the theory is presented as fact. In the public school system it is taught as fact, when there are logical arguments against evolutionary theory. Since most arguments have to some degree religious connotations, they are immeadiately rejected and only one point of view is expressed...as fact. I understand the difference, I just think both sides should be represented or none at all being as that both are theories.

Because since birth they are told that it is the work of evil and must be either ignored or laughed at for being scientifically proven. But they are aren't told the scientifically proven bit oh no they are told that our grand parents where monkeys. They really need to stop this religious brainwashing. Say no to jesus

Evolution does not explain how life first arose, you are right, it also don't explain what happened there after. It isn't true.

Why is is that people are so fast, and happy, to accept they came from monkeys?

I understand what evolution is. I believe we have all evolved just not from a single organism or monkeys.
Believe God created us in his image......but, that we have evolved in knowledge and our bodies have adapted.
